All together took about 2 weeks and cost me about $110, normal price would of been about $400 but I had most of the materials already. I've always disliked carpet in a boat and have been wanting to do this for many years.20170512_084851.jpg 20170512_084905.jpg 20170512_085003.jpg 20170512_085014.jpg 20170517_203754.jpg 20170517_203818.jpg 20170517_203809.jpg 20170517_165349.jpg

Thank you, the blue is the gray epoxy tented blue. It was put on with a paint stick dipped in blue. The blue tent came from the same place as the non-skid. The non skid was put into the gray only @, 50% med grit and 50% coarse grit. All medium would probably work just as well.

Jared, that did turn out really nice. It's easy to see you put a ton of time in it to get all those little details just perfect. Nice really clean boat. You bust trips in that thing yet?

I have not had a chance to run a taller prop yet. May just have to wait till the rally in June.

That looks PHENOMENAL!!! Your coming to the rally? Can't wait to discuss this with you, fantastic job!! Been wanting to get rid of my carpet as well, do you think it added or shaved weight?

Thanks, yes I'll be at the rally this year, I think it shaved weight, all of that glue and carpet seemed heavy.

That would be nice to do that and have a carpet kit from Allison with snaps so you could have carpet when you wanted or take it out for those days of heavy fishing !
Pkstv, you're on to something there. Suppose you wanted to go minnow fishing - that would be the day to leave the carpet at home.

Sounds good in theory. Would you use velcro to secure the carpet on and around the hatches with snaps around the edges of the main floor and decks?

How about a list of the products you used.
I took a pic of what was used, minus the blue dye. Keep in mind that I had to do some gel work because under the carpet is not perfect. The gel I got from Allison. The non skid and dye came from www.uscomposites.com The epoxy I believe was bought local "left overs that my dad had.

I have looked on the net and the epoxy is not for sale. May be able to call and buy it from one place. Let's hope so......:)

I want to do this to my newly purchased 91 xb2002. i notice that my hatch doors are kinda recessed for the carpet to fit in. Was yours the same way and if so, how did you raise that level for a flat surface?

Your boat looks amazing.

Thanks, no the xb2003s are not recessed except for the one lid leading to the front deck. The lids are all wrapped with carpet. Imo the xb2002 would be easier. I would not worry about raising it up to level.
