Hey everyone! Im Josh, im 18 and I just bought my first Allison. It is a Gt20. I have driven hydrostreams since i was 12 and am also in the process of recoring one now. Anyways, back to the allison. Its a semi project boat. Deck got messed up so it has a doner deck off another gt20. The whole boat has new core, stringers, floor, and beefed up transom. It is Jack Hayes old boat. I will be drag racing it in the 800'. Any tips for this rookie? I will be running a merc 2.5 200 ff block ported to 260 specs with cut exhaust chest, 260 exhaust divider, 260 internals, lightweight flywheel, 2.4 efi front shaved to fit 2.5 block, Bridgeport horn, and some cut heads. Going to do center steer with 6" jackplate. Heres a few pics of the boat!

Bought my first Allison at 23. I know if your drag racing you’ll want some sort of holeshot plate, 24v trim, and a drag or et prop for starters.

I have a very nice holeshot plate and my buddy mark is letting me try a few drag props! I have a single ram trim clamp i plan to run 24v trim on and am in search of a mechanical trim indicator because i dont want a trim delay computer due to me also running topend on the rivers
If anyone can help out finding a cheap single ram mechanical trim actuator please let me know!! Thanks everyone!

I updated my trim pump to the MerCruiser one with the plastic reservoir and its pretty fast on 12v and a single ram.

Glad to see this ole girl brought back to life. Maybe make a thread about it under "restorations" to keep the thread going as you make more progress.
