for those not thinking you will use SI on the bow: You dont realize what you are seeing on SI or you dont fish offshore :) Also, I recommend getting a 898 at minimum for fishing on the bow. 798 is too small of a screen to see when it is mounted by your foot

you can get some of the 360 like images if you put SI on your trolling motor and rotate it slowly. Once you understand what you are seeing, you can look ahead with SI on your bow! The first revolution came for me in 2005 when i got a 987, the second revolution came for me when I put a 997 on...

strike king have some new S11 coming out. I have a pair of costa del mar 580's that are great, except they fell on the floor and lens shattered :( of course, i bet they want to charge me $100 to replace the lens.

wishful thinking. Probably doesnt have enough thrust to be effective as a bow mount, probably wont live mounted on the bow of a boat going thru any waves, and the mount for the bow will add more weight. That means if you want light weight, you are stuck with one of the old school OMC trollers...

glad you are learning! Prop venting on take off is necessary... trust me if ever tried a thru hub prop (like a bravo with no vent holes) you will realize why you need the vent holes!
