It sounds like you do have a balance problem. I would start moving weight, or bring additional weight out in the boat and move it towards the driver to get an idea of how much needs to move. What side was your oil tank on with the 2.5? If you had one. Also, did the trim pump sit in the...
What is your goal? How heavy do you typically run? Are you a tournament guy?
The 32 Max 5 is a great wheel for just about anything but top end. I have yet to run one that will outrun one of my P4 BC or even my P3's. However, a P4 BC won't carry a tournament-loaded boat like the Max 5...
You have an XB21 2+2 in Louisiana. Call and talk with Tim. He will get you to some guys with boats around you. Plenty of them in Texas as well. My old Prosport is at his shop now and he can take photos.
I personally found it to be faster than the Lightning ET. That is on the Prosport XB21 running a 300XS and a 300R. I also found it to be a smoother prop to run. The ET always had a hum or slap for me. We have done a lot of testing with the Promax and they are great props for the money...
Mine is a 2005 and I cleaned it up all over the inside when I bought the boat used. I used Acetone I think on a rag so it wouldn't drip down and hit the carpet.
Love Woodys boat. When he got the 250 he handed over the keys and let me hammer on it. It didn't take much to show me I needed an R.
As you know, pro's and cons in everything. I would put the batteries in the back if it was my boat. I did extensive testing on mine and we did the same...
Congrats on the 21. Yes. 1.5 to 1.6 should be the sweet spot. I would vote in favor of the 30 max 5 myself. a 28 will be too small. Assuming 1.75's.
The 21 will seem sluggish. I had a 21 2 seater up here a few weeks ago. I drove my boat and the 2 seater back to back and the 2 seater...
Just thought I would share what we have been up to at Fastbass Marine TV on the big 21' Allison's. All boats are tournament loaded and ready to fish. Top speeds are still climbing.

Check out my Fastbass Marine TV youtube page. You will own a V8 Allison after watching. LOL No issues with a V8 on the 21' boats. I have tested with power poles on my 21' XB21 300R. Video's on the youtube page.
