Thanks for teh reply i will try to get my gear swithche dto a 1.87

I have a xb2003 with a merc 2.5 245hp witha sportmaster lower unit with 1.62 gears. I am turning a 26 trophy 4 blade at only 6000 rpms. my speed is around 87. do i need to downsize my prop pitch or have a 1.75 or1.87 gear put in my lower unit?
