150HO Etec

My brother and I are thinking of re-powering our water ski boat with a 150 HO. Yesterday I remembered Sam Bakers Ali Shot/150

How do you think a 150HO would run on an SS2000 compared to a 225PM? Could the acceleration to 80 be comparable? After 80 I imagine the 225 would run away. Or would it be stronger from idle?

Hard to imagine buying 1.5 motors. My brother might put up half the cash for the ski boat motor. I am on my own with the SS

But it's winter, there is over a foot of snow on the ground, and a man can dream

I got my answer from Sam Baker by e-mail He says I'd miss the acceleration of the Promax if I went with a 150HO

My lightly modified 150 XR4 pushed my SS2000 to almost 90. But it had no where near the acceleration of the 225PM. I guess the 150HO would accelerate harder than my old XR4, but still no match for the Promax.

Now I can wait and see if my brother's tax refund is enough to cover his half of a 150HO for our ski boat.
