Say on a Alli XB-03 with a healthy JSRE motor capable of spinning excess of 10k, plenty of ponies,,and at sea level,,,,what drag prop might work the best in the 1/4... a 22"er or the 24"er.

Anybody got any numbers?

Thanks, RB

Thanks,

Nope, I ani't the humpin' one.!

Reason I ask is I have yet to spin my Tillmans 24 Yamaha, built for my hull and motor combo. Still on the last tank of 24:1 break in fuel. Have not had time to get to water enough.
I have a certificate for a another Yamaha prop, and was thinking of a 22 incher, since I have a 24 in hand.

22 is to small you will never get any top end out of it stay with the 24 you are going to have to spin the hell out of the 24 to see 95 in the 1/4 look at a prop calculator

russ with an 03 an et is a quicker and faster prop than a yammi (been there done that) i turn a 22et around 9000-9200 about 93-96mph in the 1/4!! the et carries the weight better if you weighover 1700lbs I believe!!

Thanks Butcher and A-man !

I bought a Yamaha Propeller Cert for 300 and some change. I'll pick up a new drag and maybe trade it for a ET later. I'm thinking the 24 may work at sea level as Butcher said and that 22"er will work for me better at this elevation of 5000 feet out here.

A-man, I ain't sure what my total weight is with this 03 would be,as light as I could git it. but 1600-1700 figures about right, if I take shallow breaths..and haven't eaten....LOL!

Russ, what drag prop(s) did you find run the best times? Never mind the speed, I want to know clock time.

I thought I had replied to this post yesterday ?????

Try again.....

John, will not have any good numbers for comparison till next races, August 6 and 7th. To date I have only raced a 4 blade 22" cleaver, modded 24 chopper and the Tillamn 24" Yammie built for this rig. I have a Brand new Yamaha 22" from Tillman, and a 22" and 24" Soddy Dasiy ET cuts for drags, thinned and built for my rig. I will be on the water August 5th, trying props and tuning some more on the PCU for higher octane fuel. I am still running pump gas, but come August, I tend to pump it up a bit...

Butcher/ Fireman,,, Thanks much for you kind offers. I think with these three new wheels to my collection, I should have the bases covered. Although I'm interested in how that 28" Hackney stacks to this 28"er I got....

Thanks, Russ
