Has anyone ever run a lazer 2 on their Allison? I bought one tonight as a spare stump jumper. Just wondered how they ran.

Let us know how it runs. I have wondered the same thing. Since the xb2002 doesn't need a big prop I think it would run ok.

I have always been told that with the old tower of power I6 and the 115/125 Mercs they were perfect, but if you tried on a V6 they were junk.

I ran a 24 Laser most of the time for 10 years when I had my 150XR4 on my SS2000. It has some limitations. If I ran it too high, it would gently blow out at about 65. The revs would go up and the boat would slow down.

At a lower height it would run 72 ish and pull me out on one ski, which covered most of my boating needs.

I'm gonna try to make a pass tomorrow . I bought so if I had a tournament on a trashy lake I don't have to worry about tearing up a good prop.

Might be a good day to try it. Herd the river is getting trashy now. Holler at me if you're going down. JJ has to work.

My XTB21 225 with sport master does not like the Lazer II prop. Past experience it will blowout very easily. I carry it onboard for an emergency only!

Good to know. Where are you running your motor height at?

My Laser 2 blew out at 1/2" below the pad and 65 mph. The first time I thought I'd spun a hub. The revs went up and the boat gently slowed down. I stopped, inspected the prop, and did it again. I could run up to 72 with the Laser 2" below the pad, and the XR4 turning 6000 or so, which was all it ever turned. That worked for me, but it's far from normal Allison set up.

The best I can remember with 5-1/2" setback the Propshaft had to be 1" or below the pad to function. It has been 14 years since I ran the prop. The Lazer II I have is a large hub 27". I did send it to JC and he did improve it tremendously but, my boat likes large diameter props.
