225 Temp

I think that's too hot. My hot light comes on right in that range. Had the same problem early this summer. It seemed like 2800-3000 Rpm pulling tubes or kneeboards made it overheat. Put the new water pump in that I knew should have been put in in April and now it's back to 140-150 degrees.

I run a 225x with a Smartcraft system that shuts her down around 150. I recently had some heating issues and that's how I found that one out. I got my overheating bugs worked out and now run around 115. Pressure sounds about right. If your water pump is good, I would check your t-stats, maybe they're not opening when they should.

temps

With my 225PM I have the same issue when pull the kids in the tube. I found that if I raise the motor to almost even or 1 inchish bellow the pad and just tilt the moter so im not spraying them down the temps stay tollerable 130. After a good pull I drop them off and take a good run and temps come down with speed.[more water preasure} If the leg is to deep in the water my temps go up while tubing or going to slow. I go 23 to 30 mph if its calm using a 4 man tube.I also find that my 25 trophy gets her hotter than the 28 drag 4 when tubing for some reason. Ive thought about adding an extra splash of oil to the gas for these duties because I think shes working exta hard and she might like the lube? Ive since cut down on the amount of time pulling the tube and got the kids skiing more that keep temps normal. James

My promax would get to 180ish in South Louisiana summer every year and run 150-160 in the winter.

My 200-2.5 carb motor has dual pissers with 5/16 restrictors instead of thermostats and I never saw over 165 in the summer. It usually runs around 135 in winter and 155 to 160 in the summer.

The last few months of having my Promax, I used washers instead Tstats(recommended by Robberie) and it ran around 10-15 degree cooler. He also routed the hose from my poppit out the back instead of back to the top of the block.
