Normally I run my motor lower than most. My thinking is less wear on the gearcase and less fatigue on the prop blades.

I tried a 28 T4X last week at an inch or two below the pad and hated it. Then I remembered all the posts here about prop height and hit the up button. Handling fixed. Up again and I was at 90 mph on a string. That's as fast as I've been and maybe close to as fast as I want to go. My 29 from Todd should get me a few more mph.

Anyhow thanks for the board. I might have just swapped props if I had not remembered the wisdom here.

I blew up 3 XR4 gear cases and broke a CLE prop shaft. My history tells me the gear cases can be fragile. So for sub 75 mph I prefer to keep the prop 'too low'

But not the T4x
