skid planer set-up

I have an XR2001 (1993) with a 260. I have 6.5" of set back.

Just wondering how you guys set up the Allison skid planer for drag racing. The instructions say 2.75" - 3" from the pad to the bottom of the planer. I talked to Darris, and he said that it should be mounted lower on the XR2001, but he would not tell me how much. It is set at 2" right now.

Should I go any lower than 2"? What does it feel like when you get it too low?

If you put it too low it will make the prop cavitate on take off . I like bout 3 inches above the pad .
