I was wondering if some one has run a 28 and a 30 chopper11 on there same set up. My Q is I have a stock 225 Pro Max 12 inch setback run 1/4 below the pad on a GSE. Would a 28 be that much better out of the hole than a 30 to warent going with a 28 for a topender with a hole shot? I like the fact that a 30 will get me in the 90s but will a 28 turn a 225 PM more rpm to get real close to 90 any way. I need another high speed prop as my other 30 cracked and want a chopper11. But I like good hole shots and mid punch also. I have a 28 drag 4 and can get her up to around 85. In a chopper11 same pitch what could I expect? Limiter intact 6750. James

I don't have a Grandsport.......I have an XB2003 with a 225x. It has run 93.5mph with a 28 Chopper II that had an Ally cut done on it. As far as I know there was no pitch change or cup change so topend should not have been changed by the prop work. My limiter is 6850-6900 and it does hit the limiter. I would think you should be very close to 90 with a 28 Chopper II.

28 chopper 11 sounds like a good prop for my xs2003 I just cant decide weather to go with a 28 or a 30.I need another top end prop I have trophys and a 28 drag 4 for all rounder but my top ender just split a worked 30 and people have told me a chopper11 works best on my setup. I could get it fixed but for 250 plus 45 shipping I may as well buy a new Chopper11.James

I've never seen one, but I read on Scream and Fly that the 30 chopper has smaller blades than the other big ear choppers. Perhaps that would help the acceleration.

My current quest is to find a 30 small ear chopper.

Rob,
Give Tim or Billy a call at Performance Propeller Inc. 1-800-572-5527 if you want a Ally Cut chopper. They are VERY experienced with Allisons.I've got two of their Ally cuts, a 26p and a 28p.The 26 is cupped more for carrying a load, which it does very well. The 28 i had cut a couple of weeks ago mainly for top end runn'in.First time out i bested my previous top end by 4mph  I'm sure a couple mph is due to cooler weather. I've also got a 26p and 28p Drag IV from them that kicks azz ;)
Give them a call and they will hook you up.I've been very happy with their service.
Marty
