If no one comes up with a cross reference number, maybe you can take the belt into Napa and they can match it up? Maybe move this post under the Motors thread so more 280 owners see it?
Got it. Wasn't enough left of the old belt to measure but V6MERC on Fast Bass gave me the key. Gates KO40310 looks just like the original and fits perfect. $12.99 at O'Reillys, $52 from Mercury. Probably the same belt on all the Merc alternator motors. GAR
