Boatmate trailer bow turnbuckle...

Anybody using something else to ratchet the bow down besides the turn buckle hook that comes with the boatmate?

I need a new turnbuckle now too, but boatmate, .doesnt list it on the website. I guess I will start searching standard hardware outlets for a stainless turnbuckle

Bill at Allison should be able set you up with new turnbuckle if you can not find one. I do not really care for the turnbuckle. With the new Boatmate trailer I bought last year, I do not know if it is the hook on the winch being larger or the way the boat sits tighter up to the bumper on the trailer. Using the turnbuckle is a pain. My solutions are to change the winch strap so the hook is smaller or change the eye let on the boat so it is a bit larger lastly go with some kind of 12 or 18 inch ratchet strap to tighten it down.
