Does anyone know what the rpm range is for these things? It's on a JC tritoon 22 footer. It has a 15x17 on it now that only turns 4800 with just me in it. I always thought they turned around 5500 to 6000 when it's propped out. It's a great running motor for the toon. I have a Viper prop by OMC here that might be a good one?? Looking for the correct rpm range for this and then I can move forward.

The other one here in the cove is a 225 and he is running 47@6100 :big grin

5300 - 6000 according to the Erude website. It says max HP is made at 5650, so I would think you would want to be propped to get at least to there.

Sounds like a 15 would do the trick for it then. The first one I messed with we put a plate on it and it really helped. Not sure if it's worth fooling with on this one... It runs 36 @ 48-900 at the moment.

Lugging an engine will cause it harm(run hot). I'd rather over rev an engine a little.
