Up for sale is my dad’s Mercury 300X outboard motor. 20” midsection. This is a 1 owner engine bought new in 2003. 307 hours, always kept inside, all stock and all original. Compression numbers were all between 112-118. Keep in mind this is the first engine I’ve read compression on, its a Harbor Freight gauge, I forgot to open intake butterfly like is recommended, and battery was not 100% hot. So in reality I think these numbers are a little higher. Engine runs flawlessly. I have videos of it running on earmuffs just before I pulled it off my dad’s 21’ Bullet. The engine pushed my dads Bullet to 89 when we ran a sportmaster and 84 with the torquemaster ready to fish at 900ft elevation. Dad doesn’t have quite the same need for speed he used to so last weekend I replaced the 300X with a newer 250 Pro XS optimax.
Engine will be sold without a lower unit.
