How many volts?

Put new gauges in this spring and added a voltmeter. It reads 14-15 volts at 3000+ rpm.
Is that right for a 225 SM?

Mine would have 14 to 14 1/2 at that rpm. Dont know if that is where it is supposed to be but that is what I had. Hope it helps to answer your question.

What's a SM? On my 150PM, it was 17+ volts when I got it, replaced the regulators and it ran 13.9-14.2 on the digital readout on my Humminbird, but the gauge was in the 14-15 range by the needle, so it sounds like you're working just great!

SM is sportmaster, but that does no good for charging. Prolly PM with SM.

my gauges do fine till I start getting over 6000rpm then they all start going haywire, thought it may be the ground so ran a ground wire from the battery up to the gauges--nope still does it.
