Humminbird thru hull puck installation

Any of you installed a thru hull puck on a Humminbird Fishfinder/GPS unit on an XB2003? I bought a 597 CI HD DI unit and want to know if it will work with the transducer that came with it or whether you need a "special" thru hull one. I've been told that the one that comes with it, (normally mounted on the transom) will work properly if installed correctly for a thru hull application but I want to be sure it will be OK. Thanks!

Just did it with a DI unit. I used the one that came with it, works great. I used a slow set epoxy. Good luck!

Yep, worked fine on mine. Just bury it in epoxy.

And only in the tray, the coring material in other spots of the hull block the signal.
