I got a Trophy prop to use as a spare from another guy in our bass club (cheap). It had the plastic 1" flo-torque hub, so I have to replace it with the solid metal 1 1/4 hub. These solid hubs fit tight and once in are the "devil" to get out, so I am thinking they are once and done, and want to do it right. Some questions 1) should I pound the hub into the prop with a rubber mallet, or slide the hub on the prop shaft then put the prop on the hub and tighten it on with the nut? 2) Can I put a little grease on the contact portion of the hub so it slides in better? Thanks for any advice on this.

The SSR hub is hard to install. I used the prop wrench to fully seat it. I can’t get them out once in. Someone with a press can get the hubs out

The older solid hub is still available and easier to use. Harder gear shifts.
