Is it possible for a untouched, stock 225 hp on any 20 ft boat (bass boat with a working live well, with all seats and trolling motor) to run 100mph?

A guy a work says that it is not possible, I disagree. He bet me $500 that he is right. I will give $400 to anyone who proves him wrong. He knows a mechanic that will have to make sure that the motor is stock before you run.

I think that a stock 225 hp xb2002 bass boat will run 100 mph. (my 2 cents) :confused

I would say a XB2002 Comp Pro or Fassbas with a 225x set-up for top end only would hit 100 mph. I can't prove it though...just my .02

Mine runs 96 right now. I have a prop with a little more pitch that I am going to run this weekend that might get me a little more. With a 1.75 gearcase, I think I would be knocking on 100's door for sure. And that's on a standard layup XB03. An XB02 should easily do it. That's a bone stock 225X with only a little reshaping done on the gearcase.

Bass and Walleye Boats ran 101.8 with an XB2003 and a 225 SS Promax, so I'd say he owes you $500. I can send you the article for a LOT less than $500. Let me know. :smile

He would wont to see it in person. To make sure the motor is stock. Thats the thing. If i show him that, He would say something was done to the motor..

be careful of what he calls stock
will the sport master lower unit make it to 100 with out blowing out or does it need some tweeking done to it
and i would think that you could find all the proof in the apba records set by the allisons in the past years
