I'd like to put in a mechanical trim gauge. I've looked at a lot of posts and it seems everyone uses the one from Stainless Marine. I've never seen a mention of the one from JSRE. It sure fits my budget better IF it works just as well. Is anyone using the JSRE gauge or know how well it performs?

This purchase may be one of those that is exemplified by the old saying, "Buy the best and cry once." I've had and used several of the Stainless Marine gauges, and when installed correctly they are consistent and reliable.

Anyone have a pic of a stainless indicator mounted on a mid which needs a bracket mount and not the thru hole?

Here's a pic of a Merc three-ram mid fitted with a Stainless Marine trim gauge.

I also thought it was too $$$$ and put off the purchase while searching for used....mistake!!!
For me it was worth every $.
Just wish there was room on the dash for a line-of-sight mounting of the readout.
