Hello all!,
I was looking at the Allison site (drooling of course ) after having my first opportunity to fish out of one in a recent tournament. We were on Sam Rayburn and were boat 47 out of 118. I was a cooangler teamed up with this gentlemen the night before. He made me try on a couple of helmets that night and I was kinda wonderin' why. Well when they called for our boat to head out, we idled past the director and to the safe start spot and ..well..to put it lightly...I am sure glad I had the helmet on. I own a 1999 skeeter with a 150 yammer on it. It is or should I say was okay for me, as I have seen the light and am a solid believer. I have been in several of the so called flagship boats from Triton, Ranger, Skeeter and the likes. I have never been in a boat that was soooooooo fast ans soooooooooo smooth as this boat was. I mean when we got outa site from the director, we could see several boats heading for Buck Bay and they were moving, or so I thought. This boat redifines the term "Haulin A$$". We caught them in mere moments and it looked like we passed them all and had a clear lake in front of us. After we stopped, I politely thanked him for the use of the helmet and had to ask just how fast we were goin. He said with a grin, "just fast enough to get here first". So I am now on the saving wagon and will be purchasing my first Allison this year. It was fairly rough on the way back, and I was in awe again how well the boat took the water, far better than anyboat I have rode in. When we got done with the weigh in and I assisted him in getting his boat out of the water. I asked him what the top speed of this little Lady was, and he said I honestly don't know, but the gps has read 92+ one day, but my butt started to eat a hole in the seat. I don't think we were goin that fast, but we deffinently ate that gambler for lunch and washed it down with a mix of Tritons and Skeeters. I am looking forward to the day I will have my own "ALLY"....
Peace and Fair Weather to All!!!
