Hi

Have an Allison ss2000 with a 2.5 280 hp stock (consumer not ros) + 1.87 sportsmaster + 14,5 x 30 lightnig et.

Ran 107 mph at 7700 rpm with my heavy brother in back seat.
The limiter is at 7750 rpm right?

I havent yet had the opportunity to test top speed with no passenger. I estimate to top out at 110-112 mph. Only question, what happens if and when I hit the limiter? Does the engine shut down or does it simply stop pulling?

Have no experience of rev-limiters and dont want any surprises at 110 mph.

Thanks in advance!

The max recommended is 7500, but the limiter doesnt kick in until 7750 rpms. When you hit the limiter, the motor will go rich, causing the engine to not turn any more rpms. It is considered a "soft" limiter, whereas the limiters that cut ignition are considered "hard".

When you hit the limiter, you wont even know it, other than it just stops pulling.
