Serial Number

A friend has this serial number on his ProMax block , OG503568. He would like to know what year was it built ?

My manual does not translate serial numbers to years, but maybe this will help until someone has a specific answer.

My 225 pro max is a 1998 and the serial number is og787xxx

The engine serial number is on the lower starboard side of the engine block and also on the starboard side of the swivel bracket. The plate on the bracket also shows the model year (second line on the plate) and the year manufactured (at bottom or plate.)
