Sportmaster nosecone modification

Has anyone done this nosecone modification to your SportsMaster low water pickup (see imageSportmaster nosecone mod.jpg)? If so can you tell me the pros & cons?

It is often done for both. At high speeds the stock holes can let in too much water and WP can get too high. As an added bonus, plugging a starboard hole streamlines flow to the thrust side of the prop which sometimes results in a speed increase

I always do this, allison, stv, guess i've never tested without doing it, i just always do it . haha

Robbie at Lee Sanderson's has always filled that hole for the Allison mod cases. They work fine and carry good pressure.
