I bought a prop from Hydromotive in the spring, and it broke a blade tip in one of my last runs in September. The warranty replacement part arrived today. Thank you very much Todd.

When the break happened, I took the part to work. We break metal parts at work all the time, so I thought I'd get the usual metallurgical analysis done. We have a full time metallurgist on staff. Sadly I can't access the work guru for 'home' projects - the ethics rules are very strict these days. I got a couple of quotes from outside labs - $3000-$4000. This makes me appreciate the luxury of having our own metallurgist at work.

The new prop is scheduled to get wet the week of May 22, if I can get that week on holidays, and if the wind cooperates. The old prop required less steering than anything else I've tried at over 80 mph. I never did use its full potential.
