trailer rollers

do you actually need the last roller on the trailer? The one back at the transom (the center long roller). Was thinking of removing for different reasons but did not want to hurt my boat loading and unloading if it is actually used.

You could probably just line the trailer back there with some flat rubber or plastic counter sinked into the trailer for good measure and be good to go i would think. I noticed lots of A boats without that one also.

I think that one is there more for protecting the keel when unloading the boat rather than loading. I wouldn't take it off. What's the point?

thanks for the input guys. I was thinking of reconditioning my trailer along with rollers and well, this one blocks my light bar anyways. Just pondering on ideas. Thanks again.
