what is 'modified for an ally' sportmaster?

It's the time of year again to wonder/learn about random things. I've seen all the talk about gearcases, and modified for this that and the next thing, so what exactly is done to a sporty to make it run better on an Allison? I have no plans to touch anything at the moment, but have a stock sporty and am thinking about things to do down the road. When a sporty is modified, what is cut/changed and why for each thing? Thanks!

Depends on who does it, but generally....swept torque tab, cut down skeg, reshape the nose. Some close off the right side water pickup hole.

Simply,cut 4"s off the skeg and blunt the nose to the size of a quarter.Should be a good starting point.:big grin
