Anyone ever add a larger or an aux fuel tank to their XB2003? 30 gallons is just not enough for running all day with the promax

I think the best a 225 Pro max would do would be 4 miles to the gallon. Thats only 120 miles. If he were floored maybe 2 miles to the gallon. Why do you think he would get 150 miles wide open? Maybe, I am missing something.

That sounds about right. I get waaaaay less that 150 miles a tank, probably half that. I'm still learning how to drive Alli style so I spend alot of time with heavy throttle and low trim trying to get the feel of it.

If you are only getting 75 miles on 30 gallons, you definitely have a problem.

I believe Allison sold a ~6 gallon aux tank setup for the 03's at one time. I haven't heard anything about it in a while, so they may have quit selling it. Call the factory and ask Bill.........

Short of that, it wouldn't be too hard to add a small cell in front of the original gas tank in the bilge. If you do that, i'd get a dual tank valve so that you can change tanks by just flipping a switch.

What pitch prop are you learning to drive with? A taller pitch prop, if you can turn it, will greatly increase your gas mileage.

Have the ECU worked over by someone who really knows what they are doing and you can increase the mileage.

I can get as poor as about 85 miles and as good as 130 miles depending on what I am doing. Making passes over and over again really drains the tank, running below 6K gas seems to last forever

My 2003 came with an extra 7 gal tank that fits in front of the big tank. I took it out when I went to a 250XS which uses a lot less gas.

Turning a 26" trophy while learning. Still can't WOT trimmed up, so maybe it'll improve as I get more boat out the water.
Trimming up really cleans the boat up and gets mpgs once you get used to the boat. I seem to get the best efficiency trimmed high at 55/60
