It looks much better w/o the old plastic. If we could only find someone to make some carbo fiber (or faux fiber) inserts to replace the plastic.

I was thinking about red anodized alloy plates but will probably leave it as it is now :smile

Next project is to replace the front deck switch/troller plug plastic surround with something more modern, I will probably get something fabricated out of alloy for that :cool

Then I'll do something similar with the switch panels - I saw someone got them fabricated not so long ago but missed out.
This is one of the sweetest looking XTB dashes I've seen:

For those not interested in redoing their faded black panels, try this product. Pig spit! Can get it at most cycle shops and some of the auto parts chains. Instant black with a nice shine. Holds up well, too.
