They are good running boats, I have driven two of them. One had a modified 200 that ran just over 90 and the other had a stock 280 and it ran 99.8. Wanted to see 100 on the GPS but the steering was leaking by and i was scared to stay in the gas!!! Not good when you turn left, left, left, and still going straight. :) Both had 28 ET's on them.

I knew a guy about 8-9 years ago. He had a modified 260 with mad efi, and NOS he went 114. About 7 years ago he got out of the speed stuff' so he could support his son in go-cart racing. He has a stock 200 now for fishing the last I heard. He went by xtb21 on scream and fly.
I don't how light it was, or if he lighten up any.

I saw one at the IL River run bust a 100.something with a Mazco and a 280. I think it was the first time he said he had run triple digits but had run 98 99 many times.

I have had two of em. Currently running an '89 with a bridgeport efi, running a stock 26p trophy plus. Have had it empty with one person to 92mph but believe with better prop it should have a bit more in it. Great old boats I like them the best of any I have ridden in

We set the bass boat speed record back in 1985 with a 2.4 carb Merc engine at 95.363 on the XTB21.
I saw 103 mph at the end of the kilo with our 125 mph Medallion Racing Speedo.

I now have Dad's 1987 XTB21 that we had restored at the factory & we put his ProMax 225 on it........ Have not ran it yet, but this motor ran 95-96 mph on his XB2003.
Hoping to run low 90's with it???

The hills!
Mine ran a disappointing 73 with an experienced alli driver. I have a stock 200 on her and am currently working out what I need to in order to get better digits. That was loaded to fish with two.

those are some incredible numbers! its hard to imagine that the big ole xtb can move like that. I think its the ultimate sleeper boat...well that is until they read ALLISON on the side!

I've had three of them and wish I had kept them all. Great boat and the way they eat up rough water is amazing. Ran a stock 260 that was blowing by, stock cle and a decent prop, unloaded no t-motor and would see right at 96 on the GPS. The boat laid over on it's side a little without some ballast in the rod locker. Always thought and have expressed on this board that the XTB was one of the best A boats ever.

My XTB tops at 83.6 on the Livorsi. Stock 200EFI with a 26" Trophy. I may be hitting the rev limiter because it consistently peaks at 6200. Pacman
