Ya your probably right about the two being the same. I just read were the 2.5 case was smaller? Adam who runs the motor in the Clip said the two cases ran the same speed.

I forgot about one difference between the 2.5 and 3.0 liter sportmasters that I discovered earlier in the year. The inspection plates on the side of the the 2.5 where the water passages wind around ahead of the water pump are absent on the 3.0L cases. I'm not sure if that means the water passages on the 3.0 take a more direct route up through the case or not.......

Hmm interesting discovery. Never herd anyone else talk about this. Makes sence why like you said.
Its funny how when Merc makes changes like this they dont tell everyone all bout why they decided to make a change hear and there. i mean they do for some stuff but i've noticed theres always Q,s as to why.

Then someone with a friend at lake X told them it was because of this and one or two years latter we all go, oh thats why.:beer:
