Im happy turning a small prop quickly up to 90-100.
I guess I'm too old and start thinking of all the things that can go wrong while try to wring the last mph out of her.

Quick! I prefer the boat to jump and pull like mad instead of being sluggish with high top end.

Just walk out in that garage of yours and pick up one of those high dollar custom made low pitch props you been tripping over when you want to be quick , or pick up one of them custom made high pitch props when you want to go fast ... Haha. Or you could have 2 boats so you wouldn't have to change props . That's what I'm talkin' about !

Thats what I like also. To add to this I want to be able to do it with a 200lb or less passenger also.:big grin

I think Todds GS 260 turning his 26 pitch prop has this exact compromise. If you call 103 with 3 adults a compromise. Dialed would be more like it since hes only 3mph off a solo top end hull speed wise in a GS and still pulls like a fright train from what Ive heard.!!! Sweet!

Hey Whip..................nobody will ride with me anymore so I guess I won't be able to use that one as a goal.

Great question. Quick when I'm fishing tournaments. Fast is relevant, but my boat feels fast enough for me when I hit mid-eighties.:wink

I have to go for the compromise. My little 16 Baja/115 Etec will outrun my SS2000/PM to 40 the way both boats are usually propped (50/80 top speeds).

The Baja is not more fun, no thrill in 50 mph, so my goal is a quick 0-90 and a stable 90.

Jeffrey you rub elbows with the boat gods so your mess don't count!! Seriously, that is strolling and your son doesn't know any better! Bring the case and prop and we will run this XR2001. I would be disappointed if you couldn't run 135 with a new 280 with Drag electrics. Gohr could probably go 145.

Take this over to the thread I started on Allison vs STV. We might get this stuff off the website and onto the water. Melton Hill Lake the week before Jasper 2014.
