Trailer hitch

Guys check your trailer hitches. I pulled the hitch out today to let a buddy of mine borrow it when he used my utility trailer. Much to my surprise it had rusted thru in numerous spots, it was even elongated at the pin hole. I pushed my finger thru in a couple of places. Yes it's about 3years old I never thought about it rusting out. I'm glad I found it before I hooked the boat to it.

I pulled mine yesterday, and it is rusted up more than I like too.. The hole is elongated as well.. Up here it is the salt I guess. I leave mine in all winter incase someone hits me a little they wont mess my bumper up. It has saved me a few times.. Once i had a BMW stuck to me. Lol.

I've got a few older ball mounts and they are probably 40% heavier than the new ones. I need to buy a new one for our Jeep since I need about a 43" drop.... I bet it'll be junk in 3-5 years...
