So, is everyone hotelin it or campin? We were planning on the hotel but now have to camp because we have the dog. the dog originally wasn't going to go because I (Rachelle) would stay at home but since Brian (silverbullet) can't make up his mind if he is going or not, I am now going. :help
and arrangements (reservations, etc) have to be made. Look forward to meeting everyone! But you will not see me in any of the races, i don't want to die! :very happy

The Casino does have a RV campground. I don't know if you have a motor home or O/H camper, but either can park there so that you would be with the "wild & crazy" group. If launching is an issue, any one of us will let you have a "launch vehicle". Gary will let you use his motor home I'm sure after he puts his Champion in the water.:big grin

One of the things that we have done the last two years is to have a timed run event. We lay out between 800 and 1000 feet and the guys run against the clock. All of our newest drivers took part in this the first year we tried it and guess what, they loved it. Depending on boat and motor you will only be running about 70 or less at the end of 800' if your running a stock 225 PM on a 2003 plus there won't be anybody running beside you. The reason it works is we set up classes and you can compare your times with the others with similar boats and similar power. Even if your not into top end running which a lot of guys aren't I think you may want to try this. The reason we keep it to 800' is to make it safe by keeping the speeds down. The first year we had a few beginning drivers go through and to my surprise those guys made as many as 10 passes on the clock. I think there is a lot to be learned by taking part in this event, but it's not mandatory and if you want someone to ride with you the first time through, many of us would be happy to make the first pass with your boat with you ridding shotgun, and then you can make a pass. Remember you can lift off the throttle anytime since your really not racing another boat you don't have the presure to stay in it if your not comfortable. We are a small group and if you want one of us to ride along with you just ask. These rallies will help your driving skills.

i've gone fast in the boat before but I am sure Aaron would prefer I wasn't there when he was going to fast. I am always telling him to slow down, tapping him on the leg, or turning my seat around so I can't see whatz coming. I am just scared of what could happen with one bad wave or move.
I just have to stop being a baby and grow up. :big grin

Rachelle, Sorry, I didn't read your first post very closely and thought it was written by Aaron. So my answer was ment to be for him. As far as your second post I understand very well. My wife has the same problem with speed in a boat as do many people. So when she and other people are with me in the Allison I don't go fast period. That way she enjoys the ride and I don't have to worry as much about her getting injured. Some people don't enjoy speed in fact it scares the hell out of them. We as drivers have to respect that.

That is okay! Aaron respects not to go fast but he always gets that urge and I just happen to be in the boat, if he had the time he would put me on shore and come back for me but those chances never come! Its always that guy is moving, lets race!
I can't wait to meet everyone. WE LOVE BOATING

Rachelle, really most of us don't have a death wish. My engine was giving me fits at the Delta WAR last year. StinkBait(aka badbait) was kind enough to allow me to ride with him on the trips the group took. We both didn't want to die either so took our time, it was discussed before taking off. My wife, Chris will be there and I doubt she will go out in the boat with me either. Her lack of death wish exceeds mine.

My S.O. is just like you, except she doesn't just tap me. 60-65 is fine with her, any more I have to be real sneeky and just ease it up. Actually, I don't think she has been over 70 with me (yet):wink.
My other S.O. doesn't mind a bit how fast we are going, especially when we might be late for weighin. Anymore, he can tell when I might be getting into decal washing and just grabs the bar!!!

Rachelle, you will have a great time. The more the merrier:beer:

Well now G-man every dog has his day and we all know your due. If you whip me I'll actually be somewhat happy for ya. I know how hard you've worked on that Sack of Cats and you certainly deserve some success.

Today this dog had his day. I went to the Afterbay with my 2003/250XS and my friends with their 19 Cougar 300XS were there and we were going to see who could put up the best numbers. We both put on 30 Choppers ll and he made a pass at 100 and I went out and made a pass at only 98.9. I was dissapointed to say the least, but then I remembered that the last time I used the boat in the Delta I had lowered the motor a inch. We came in and he was checking over his boat and found a crack in his case and I then new his day was over and all I had to do was run a little over 100 and I'd win so I took it up a half inch and went out and ran 101 mph. Hey I'll take it anyway I can get it. The other thing that helped me was that he was surprised that he only ran a 100 and he asked his brother how much gas did you put in the boat and his brother said he filled it. lol
Like I say every dog has his day.

I didn't have a level or a tape measure with me so I will be resetting the motor height and going out again to see where the top speed really is. I'm going to need 3 or 4 more mph if I'm going to have any chance against those 2002s at the rally even though there spotting me 6 mph.

Now THATs more like it, John! Rachelle tanning. I'm sure I'd like that but she wouldn't like being blinded by glare off the yards of pasty WHITE flesh. The thought even turns my stomach! Hey Bill is the Cougar coming to Clear Lake? Glad to see you put him in his place.
