skewby, just throwin this out for sat on the long run to calhouns, a few of us locals can't make the trip to lock thru but was letting everyone know who can't make trip that we will do a run up with ya to crestwood cove(where the refueling will take place) and hang out round long island ,good sandy area for parkin boats, swimming, good place to air em out, water usually perfect (lil chop) . hang out on that end then join back up with group and run back south . itinerary looks awesome, countin down the days, hopin weather pattern will change , damn.

This run sounds like a lot of fun, HOWEVER, I have been on a few bodies of water where locking thru takes a great deal of time, either waiting for the locks to open OR waiting for other vessels that called ahead to the lock master to wait.

If the lock thru does not happen what Mike just mentioned above sounds like a great back up plan!!!!! I'm not too particularly interested in getting caught up in locks if thats the case. We'll look more into it earlier in the week.

And lets hope we don't have to call in Noah to build an Ark by then.

I know to lock thru Ft. Loudon TVA says to call ahead to make sure they're good to go. I bet if we were to call that morning that we could have a lock thru time set up. I'll try to call them this week and see what they say.

Looking thru on the way to somewhere never bothered me as much as wondering if I can lock thru to get back home...

Exactly Dave!!!!!! My friend and I spend a week in Canada fishing in and around the Rideau Canal system of lakes in the summer and usually end up fishing close to the one. I have already tied up and walked up to the top to watch because it is so cool to see how the gates and all work.

I got to chatting with a guy one time and he says that they wait for boats to fill it up before they proceed. I never did get to see the whole process cuz I wasn't going to waste precious fishing time to watch boats floating around

It is cool to watch. I have seen it a lot. They lock you in, and fill it up. Open the gates and off you go.. Opposite going down river. Make sure everyone has a nice rope. The ones I have been in a rope helps. the water comes in pretty quick.

I'll say!!!! last fall I fished with Don on the Mohawk and we locked thru a few times and the walls are freakn icky!!!! Put your bumpers out and have an OLD rope and an OLD pair of gloves to hold onto their rope/cable.

It has been brought to my attention that I had the date wrong on the second page of the itinerary for Saturday. It is obviously the 22'nd.

I also added Ben Biller's phone number to the list of contacts. So you know, Ben is also a local and will be staying at his in laws on the opposite side of the lake. He will also be going to the factory on Thursday.

Those going to the factory that day will have Ben meet you at the Terrace View (on the water) AFTER returning from the factory and will escort you up to the sand bar with the rest of us. Since Ben will be staying on the East side of the lake, he will get there long before the others returning from the factory to Terrace so he will come and get ya by water.

Again, right click on each image and click save as and then save it to your desktop and print it out. I will have copies at the terrace and lakseside check in desks for those in need.

Wednesday Prop Testing

Wednesday prop testing: If anyone has a Hydromotive QIV-X O/B SST in a 27p or 28p for an XB21, would you please bring it with you? I'd like to try one. Thanks. FishingBen

You gonna be on my side of the lake. I'll come dock up at Uncle Jim's house across the cove and hang out with ya.
